Clinical Education Lead - Oncology & Haematology

As an innovative practitioner the post holder will be committed to improving the patient experience and driving up standards of patient care across the Oncology and Haematology Services.

They will facilitate the training and development of nursing staff and the implementation of evidence based practice by supporting staff in clinical practice thus contributing to the continual development of quality services provided to patients and others who come into contact with the Trust.

The post holder will be clinically based predominantly on the Oncology & Haematology Ward Areas, placing the clinical environment at the heart of learning and will participate in specific projects related to nursing practice.

Successful candidates must have proven leadership skills, excellent management skills as well as demonstrating that you are passionate about making a difference and leading teams to deliver excellence.

We are looking for a senior nurse that is dynamic, innovative and passionate in the delivery of high standards of patient care and who is able to support us in achieving our Ward Accreditation.

  1. Facilitate the co-ordination the care of patients throughout the care pathway with the multidisciplinary team and clinical services to ensure the effective management of this group of patients.
  2. Demonstrate advanced practice in clinical and holistic assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients requiring care to ensure that optimum physical and psychological care needs are met.
  3. Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of holistic care and provide clinical leadership.
  4. Create a climate in which patients and carers are empowered to make informed choices about their health and treatment options.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

  1. Provide and maintain expert knowledge and practice in clinical skills such as venepuncture, peripheral venous cannulation, management of central venous access devices and chemotherapy drug administration.
  2. Ensure that all staff are appropriately trained by delivering a robust training schedule and ensure care/treatments are delivered safely within clinical guidelines.
  3. To be a named super user for Mosaiq, ensuring that staff are trained to use Mosaiq.
  4. Support the ward managers in the management of training and in monitoring compliance across nursing staff groups and deliver consistently high levels of competence and compliance.
