We are recruiting for a Chief Cardiac Physiologist for Echocardiography who will share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The Echocardiography service offers inpatient and outpatient services for TTE’s, ACHD, TAVI and Oncology, as well as consultant led TOE, exercise, and pharmacological stress echo service.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated to join our team. You will need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.

Please note that there are two posts available. One full-time (37.5 hours) post and one part-time (18.75 hours).

To work as a highly specialist practitioner across the range of echo procedures performed in the Department of Cardiac Investigation and to provide operational management support to the Senior Chief CP for the specified area within Cardiac Investigations.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

  1. Be a competent practitioner in echocardiography procedures.
  2. Have an advanced knowledge of products and procedures.
  3. Be able to autonomously perform routine and complex diagnostic procedures.
  4. Be involved in supervision and training of other cardiac physiologists.
  5. Participate on a roster basis as required.
  6. Monitor and maintain quality of services within echocardiography.
  7. Be willing to develop further highly technical specialist and advanced practical skills in complex echo service.
  8. Participate in the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring the smooth running of a quality service.
  9. To independently assess referred patients. Monitor the appropriateness of referrals, obtaining information relevant to patient care, interpreting, and reporting clinical findings and ensuring appropriate discharge or ongoing care.
  10. Encourage and support staff to obtain BSE accreditation.
  11. To provide teaching and support, to all members of the department and medical staff who are learning technical cardiology.
  1. To actively encourage and develop a multidisciplinary approach to cardiac care.
  2. To maintain an interest in the profession, and knowledge of new techniques and protocols; attending courses where necessary, in line with the services demands.
  3. Remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good public relations on a one-to-one basis with the general public and other interest groups.
