We are looking for highly motivated individual to join our busy, friendly pharmacy department at Croydon University Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the post include

  • To provide support to the Pharmacy Teams in the Dispensary.
  • You will take part in audit activities, staff Training (PS Course) and in QI projects.
  • You will also be required to co-ordinate work flow in the dispensary and take a lead role where necessary.
  • You will assist in ACPT checking and in the training and development of staff you line manage.
  • You will also be responsible for understanding, developing and scheduling plans and assist in writing procedures. For further information, please read job description.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPHC
  • Must Hold ACPT qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Qualified D32 / D33 or NVQ Assessor
  • Significant relevant pharmaceutical experience
  • JAC & Audit/ Quality Improvement Project

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant and proven post qualification experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Proven ward based experience (minimum six months or more)
  • Education and Training of Pharmacy Staff
  • Supervision of Staff
  • Top-up/distribution service
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of JAC computer system
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge and Understanding

Essential criteria
  • Dispensing experience including patient counselling
  • Understanding of a range of work procedures and current practices
  • Developing, structuring and scheduling plans or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of CPD
  • Good knowledge of stock control
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of NVQ and accreditation systems
  • Knowledge of regulations, legislations and GPhC standards of practice for pharmacy professionals

Skills and Abilities

  • Good written / verbal communication skills
  • Provides specialist technical services or relevant experience
