An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse role has arise to join the specialist bladder and bowel team in the integrated Community Care group
This post will allow the successful candidate to work as a specialist nurse providing specialist assessment and treatment for people with bladder and bowel problems
Main duties of the job
The UHMB Adult’s Bladder and Bowel (continence) Service is a Level 2 specialist led clinician community service to provide Level 2 specialist assessment diagnosis and treatments for people who have bladder and bowel problems. This included both in a clinic and domiciliary setting.
The service is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, who are appropriately registered with post-registration experience and recognised experience and skills.
Health education and promotion is fundamental within the role and delivery of training to other registered health professional to enhance their knowledge of bladder and bowel assessment, diagnosis an treatment.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
