Lived Experience and Peer Support Coordinator

This is an exciting role for a peer who wants to scope a more leadership and management type position.

The post holder will support the Trust Wide Recovery Lead in promoting the role of peer support and its work across all directorates embedding recovery focussed practice throughout the Trust.

This role is a permanent position at 37.5 hours a week and a hybrid role between home and office. Travel will be expected across the Trust on a regular occurrence.

As a pivotal member of the RCE Wellbeing Hub team, the post holder will support the Recovery Lead in promoting the role of Peer Support and the RCE Wellbeing Hub across all directorates.

There will be day-to-day supervision of any PSW’s within the team or as delegated by the Recovery Lead.

The post holder will lead on the CPD offering for PSWs within the Trust and also support and induct newly appointed/qualified PSWs.

Recovery focussed practice will be at the forefront of your mind and you will support not only PSWs but also Trust staff to understand, appreciate and embed recovery focussed practice within their work. 

Work closely to support and meet the teams KPIs in relation to peer support within the Trust.

  • Delivery of peer support related training across the Trust and to external agencies where applicable.
  • To bring a lived experience perspective within RCE Wellbeing Hub in both the coproduction and co-delivery of RCE Wellbeing Hub courses and within the delivery of the PEP programme.
  • Deliver the day-to-day operational management of peer support workers/developments.
  • Assisting with the day to day running of the RCE Wellbeing Hubs and spokes where peer support workers are working.
  • To co-deliver training and courses in relation to Peer Support and The RCE Wellbeing Hub.
  • Supporting the work of the RCE Wellbeing Hub in the development of new policies and processes,  in relation to peer support work.
  • The post holder will lead the delivery of team readiness and PSW supervisor training to service lines and teams as agreed by the Recovery Lead.
  • Run regular group supervision/reflective sessions for the wider Peer Support workforce. 
  • Support the recruitment of peer support workers within the Trust.

  • Coaching qualification

Experience

  • Lived experience of health challenges or experience of being in a carer’s role
  • Training in, and experience of working as a PSW
  • Co-production and co-delivery of training/group work activities to professional staff and/or service users/carers in a health care setting

  • Co-chairing meetings in a formal or informal capacity

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, including planning and prioritisation
  • An awareness of how to stay well at work and wellness planning
