Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kent and Sussex Adult Eating Disorders Provider Collaborative.

The post holder will actively develop Mental Health user and carer involvement within the Adult eating Disorders Provider Collaborative in Kent and Sussex, ensuring that service user participation is an integrated aspect of all work and service development that the Provider Collaborative is involved in. The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing User Partnership Groups and will also support the Kent and Sussex Provider Collaborative in developing and promoting a partnership approach to working with services users and their families/ carers.

The post holder will establish positive relationships with existing participation organisations across the Kent and Sussex footprint and be expected to travel across the footprint. 

Base is negotiable across the areas covered by the Kent and Sussex Collaborative. 

Main duties of the job

To support the work of the Adult Eating Disorders Collaborative by: 

  • Undertaking engagement work with patients, carers and the public in the context of the strategic priorities of the team
  • Undertaking work with operational colleagues at all levels in the organisation to promote the strategic priorities of the team and support frontline service improvement
  • Undertaking work to gather feedback from patients, carers and the public 
  • Supporting and contributing to the strategic and policy development of the Provider Collaborative
  • Supporting the teams work by undertaking key project tasks 
  • Developing opportunities for a closer links between Provider Collaborative and the Equality and Diversity and Carer functions of the functions of the organisation.

Working for our organisation

Provider Collaboratives are provider organisation partnerships operating in geographical footprints to improve care for adults with Eating Disorders. Provider Collaboratives hold specialised commissioning, contracting and quality assurance responsibilities for the  Adult Eating Disorder caseload for Kent and Sussex. The lead provider is Sussex Partnership NHS FT. Our partners are North East London FT.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To undertake engagement work with patients, carers and the public in the context of the strategic priorities of the team
  • To work closely with operational colleagues to realise the strategic priorities of the teams and promote frontline service improvement
  • To work with external partners to deliver the strategic priorities of the team and to identify opportunities for future work to advance the same
  • To advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations with the community across the Protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010
  • To undertake work to gather feedback from patients, carers and the public
  • To support and contribute to the strategic and policy development of the
  • To support the team’s work by undertaking key project tasks
  • To develop opportunities for a closer links between Adult Provider Collaborative and the Equality and Diversity and Carer functions of the organisation
  • To take lead responsibility for the management and delivery of specific projects as agreed

To act as a public face of the Trust in relation to the work of the teams

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Relevant degree or diploma level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development

Knowledge / Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation as it relates to the patient and carer experience
  • Working knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Human rights legislation and good practice
  • Experience of successful project management in a complex organisation
  • Experience of working with a diverse range of people in a dynamic environment
  • Experience and evidence of analysing, interpreting and presenting information
  • Experience of producing reports and contributing to funding applications
  • Experience of supporting managers and clinical staff
  • Experience of event management
