Consultant Psychiatrist - Caburn

NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high quality services for the patients, carers and local communities we serve.

We want patients and staff to recommend our organisation as a place where they would be happy for their friends and family to be treated. You can help us do this by bringing your skills, experience and commitment to Sussex Partnership.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides health and social care services across a variety of care settings in and across Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and Medway, and London. We aim to realise the potential of everyone who uses its services and to enable staff and bank workers to do a great job; we believe great things are possible if we never give up.

The Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant Psychiatrist to work on Caburn ward based at Mill View Hospital in Hove. This post is (10PA) based on an adult female acute admission ward. The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the ward team and will be involved in the assessment and management of adults who are experiencing a crisis in their mental health.

Patients may be subject to detention under the Mental Health Act, and as such, there is a requirement for the Consultant Psychiatrist to undertake MHA-related work (preparation of MHA-related reports and attendance at MHA-related hearings). The post holder will work alongside 1 Associate Specialist and other members of the Caburn multi-disciplinary team, including the full time Clinical Psychologist.
