Consultant Psychiatrist in Older People’s Mental Health Services
Applications are invited for a Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry, to be based in Chichester West Sussex on a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust was formed in April 2006 and provides mental health, learning disability and substance misuse services to the people of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex and West Sussex. Close links have been developed with Brighton and Sussex Medical School and there is a Sussex-wide training scheme in Psychiatry. A recently appointed Professor of Dementia (Prof. Sube Banerjee) will lead research and academic developments for the future. The Trust is divided into three localities of East Sussex, Brighton and Hove and West Sussex. Currently the Trust has 25 Older People’s Mental Health Services Consultant Posts
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join a professional service in West Sussex on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The post holder will work closely with other Consultants in the Dementia services. The post provides Consultant cover into the Memory Assessment service and the Living well with Dementia team. The postholder will ensure high quality mental health care for older people and are expected to embrace New Ways of Working in their clinical practice. There will be opportunities to work closely with senior managers to implement improvements and developments in the future, as well as develop research interests.
