We are looking to recruit to an administrative support role based on an in-patient acute mental health ward at St Michael’s Hospital, Warwick.   This is an in-patient unit caring for adults suffering from a wide range of mental health disorders.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holders will be required to provide an effective and efficient admin support service working within an integrated and skill mixed team.  You must be able to multi-task under pressure and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.   The role will require you to provide ward clerk/admin support to the Ward Manager and ward staff and a large proportion of your day will be ward based working with the team.  Duties will include collating data information for bed stays, ordering equipment/food/etc, taking timely and accurate messages, fire warden duties, e-mails, scanning, keeping up-to-date patient records, records tracking, post and deliveries, arranging sick notes, etc. You will also work alongside your admin hub colleagues, communicating daily, jointly organising and planning weekly workloads and providing cover for each other’s wards. Post-holders will also be required to provide lunchtime cover to the reception area on a rota basis.

  • Ability to deal professionally with enquiries from staff, service users and stakeholders

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
