Salary: £35,392 - £42,618 per annum

- To assist with the planning, development, delivery and assessment of specialised clinical skills
education programmes within simulation for learners and Trust employees - To set up and maintain equipment for teaching sessions as required.
- To possess high levels of developed manipulation and dexterity skills required for educating health
care professionals. These may include performing defibrillation, intravenous injections, peripheral
cannulation, venepuncture, airway management, urinary catheterisation, suturing, arterial blood gas
sampling, etc. - To develop specialist knowledge across a range of procedures related to clinical skills education
and use this knowledge to relate theory to practice at degree level. - To prepare for exposure at clinical emergencies, to possible contact with bodily fluids, smells, foul
linen, possible exposure to sharps, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards at all
times

Experience and Knowledge

- 3 years working at band 5 or above
- Relevant clinical experience as a registrant
- Previous experience leading a team
- Experience of teaching in different settings
- Experience of mentoring and assessing students and other health care staff
- Awareness of teaching and assessment methods
- Proficiency in a wide range of clinical skills
- Able to explain how to promote best practice and apply evidence based practice
- Experience of clinical or educational audit or research

- IT literate with experience of using PowerPoint, Excel, Word and email.
Qualification and Professional Training

- RGN level 1 or Midwife or equivalent professional qualification e.g. HCPC registrant
- First Level Degree or ability to complete First Level Degree within 2 years of appointment
- Working towards or willingness to undertake relevant MSc or level 7 qualification
- Evidence of developed resuscitation and Clinical Skills knowledge

- Immediate Life Support Provider or Paediatric Immediate Life Support Provider
- Recognised post registration teaching qualification or equivalent experience

- Well-developed problem solving, critical appraisal and decision making skills
- Required to exert moderate physical effort for several short periods

- Possess high levels of manipulation and dexterity skills for performing resuscitation and clinical skills
- Manage conflicting views during training and be prepared to challenge healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive optimal clinical treatment
- Possess developed communication skills when conversing with healthcare professionals and for debriefing
- Ability to form positive working relationships with multi-professional colleagues
- Seen as local “expert” for Clinical Skills and act as the Trust representative where appropriate.
- Prepare for unpleasant working conditions when attending clinical situations
