Wound Healing Sister 
 
Working out of a variety of bases and patients homes, across Coventry Out of Hospital setting, this service operates from Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
 

Would you like to be part of a team dedicated to improving the care and treatment outcomes across a wide range of patients whilst continuing to develop specialist skills in wound care?

We currently have vacancies within our Wound Healing Service. We are a specialist Wound Service focusing on Hard to Heal wounds, working with each patient on realistic goals depending on their wound healing potential.

We deliver advanced wound healing treatments within patients own home or residential/nursing home and within a clinic setting for ambulatory patients. We also work alongside Practice Nurses, Community Nurses and nursing homes offering lots of variety to the role with imparting wound care knowledge across the community. 

We welcome qualified nurses who have a passion for wound healing and would like to build on their wound care knowledge and skills. We are also able to support newly qualified RGNs with preceptorship for those with a passion and interest for wound healing.  This role is a rotational post across the 2 areas of the service, wound healing clinics and community wound healing team offering variety to the successful candidate.

To have continued responsibility in providing clinical day to day management for the wound healing service, including the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans.
To ensure the provision of high quality standards of care to all patients within the wound healing service. 
To provide ongoing supervision and development of staff within the wound healing service.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) has taken the decision to no longer continue to provide Adult Physical Community Services, as there are more suitable providers within the wider NHS local system. 

Following a review of suitable providers to take forward the contract, the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has confirmed its intention to award the contract for the provision of Adult Physical Community Services to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW).  This change is anticipated to take effect from 1st July 2024.

Your application to work in Adult Physical Community Services will not be adversely impacted by the change in provider.  Should you commence employment prior to the transfer, your contract of employment (that is your terms and conditions of service as at the point of transfer) will automatically transfer to the new organisation, under the "Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006" (TUPE) as amended by the "Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014".

Should you commence employment after the transfer, your contract of employment will be issued by the new provider of Adult Physical Community Services.

Essential Requirements for this post:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) or about to graduate
  • Able to plan, assess, evaluate patient care.
  • Experience  of working within the wound care field
  • Flexibility, Motivated, innovative and committed to career progression.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle with business use insurance are essential. There is a daily requirement for driving either to and from patients homes or to a locality base.
