Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust currently have a fantastic opportunity to join the Imaging management team based at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey.
The role is a Service Manager position, for the new Woking Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) working alongside the Imaging and other Service Managers to provide operational management for Imaging, phlebotomy, respiratory, cardiology, audio, anti-coag , all soon to be based at this CDC. The role is varied, challenging and with great opportunities to develop new skills, experience and knowledge.
This opportunity also provides excellent development for someone wishing to progress within a senior operational management career. The ideal candidate would need to be proactive, able to problem solve and build strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This position would suit someone with a ‘can-do’ and flexible attitude

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities for this role are:
Day to day operational management of the services in the CDC
Support the delivery of strong performance against local and national KPIs
Evaluate service delivery against projected activity managing costs, resources in line with budget targets.
Support development and delivery of CDC treatment pathways, ensuring operating standards and performance metrics for each service and ensuring clinic capacity is fully and flexibly utilised.

Successful candidates will have previous operational management experience, including financial, strategic, performance and Human Resources experience. It is important to have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both internally and externally and with all levels of staff, representing the Imaging and other service teams at internal and external meetings

Essential criteria
- Educated to Post Graduate Diploma or Master’s level and/or equivalent experience
- • Evidence of continuous professional development
- • Project management experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Management experience in the acute sector
- Operational Management
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of delivering key access standards e.g. RTT/cancer/A&E performance
- Experience of implementing service change to improve quality/efficiency/performance
- Experience of working in the NHS
Desirable criteria
- Experience in an Imaging department
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Trust vision, values and strategic objectives
- Understanding of NHS performance measures
Desirable criteria
- Awareness / knowledge of an Imaging department and associated Radiation Protection regulations
Skills
Essential criteria
- Evidence of report writing and presenting skills, to include business cases, formal presentations and analysing and presenting complex data
- Developing and implementing strategic plans at service level that enable the attainment of Divisional objectives
- Full range of IT skills including the Microsoft Office package, spreadsheet analysis and PAS
- Excellent communication skills across the organisation and with a wide range of staff with differing levels of responsibility and different
- Ability to influence decision making with senior clinical staff
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and act on own initiative
- Experience in pathway design
Other requirements
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel between Trust sites
- Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team, the service and the Trust
- Ability to participate in Bronze and On call rotas
