Job overview

The Estates Department is seeking a suitability qualified joiner.

Undertaking works at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Mexborough Montagu Hospital and other Trust properties the successful candidate will be required to carry out a full range of joinery activities.

Applicants must have served a recognised apprenticeship and hold City & Guilds Craft Certificates or NVQ equivalent, together with a minimum two years continuous post qualification experience.

You will be expected to demonstrate all aspects of the joinery discipline together with a flexible and conscientious approach to working.

Main duties of the job

To undertake planned preventative and reactive building maintenance duties. To repair and maintain the building fabric, fixtures and fittings to all Trust properties, and all properties covered by any current Service Level Contracts.

To undertake other duties within the job description as requested / directed by your line manager and estates manager.

Essential criteria
  • Joinery apprenticeship (Min 2 years) continuous experience in industry.
  • Good all round building knowledge.
Desirable criteria
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Cross Trade appreciation.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • City and Guild Advanced Craft Certificate or NVQ 3 Equivalent or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • Health & Safety Training, i.e. use of Machinery, scaffolding, first aid, etc.
