Applications are invited for a Trust Doctors Obstetrics & Gynaecology. This role is to start immediately on a fixed term contract basis until the 31st July.
The Department covers all subspecialties for maternity and gynaecology care, including sub-specialist oncological surgery (cancer centre status).
We undertake a wide range of major and minor surgery, run specialist and nurse led clinics and the maternity unit cares for about 3,200 pregnant women each year.
All inpatient care is centred on the Musgrove Park site but peripheral clinics are run in Bridgwater, Minehead, Wellington and Burnham-on-sea.
There are good links with the Fetal Medicine Department in Bristol, and the oncology team is part of the South West cancer network.
Musgrove Park Hospital serves a population of 350,000 and has an excellent reputation for providing a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and specialist services. The Trust has been rated ‘good’ in a recent CQC inspection, with an ‘outstanding’ rating for patient care. In 2016 we were selected to be a ‘Global Digital Exemplar’. One of only 16 Trusts who have been selected to trail blaze new ways of using digital technology, to drive radical improvements in the care of patients. The Trust has an excellent Teaching Academy and Postgraduate Centre with its own Research & Development Support Unit. We are the South West’s highest scored Trust for training in the GMC National Training Survey.
