We are looking for a highly motivated, adaptable and conscientious Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) as part of the newly formed OPAT team. Experience of hospital pharmacy is essential.
We are a department that is committed to the development of services and staff. This a great opportunity for a pharmacist looking to specialise within antimicrobials to expand their knowledge and be part of the development of a new service.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with the OPAT team, clinicians, and nursing colleagues to support, develop and promote the safe and effective use of antimicrobials. By attending MDT ward rounds you will be involved in the identification of suitable patients for OPAT, promoting prudent antimicrobial use and advising on appropriate antimicrobial treatment.
You will also have a regular ward pharmacy commitment and participate in out of hours and weekend rotas.
As such we are seeking a patient focused pharmacist aiming to build on established clinical skills who will work closely with clinicians in providing a high-quality service to patients. Someone who demonstrates a commitment to personal and staff development.
Cross site working may be required at times, and there is a potential to be based at PRH.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Honours Degree in Pharmacy / MPharm
- Registration with the GPhC as a pharmacist
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy
- Supervision of staff
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in documenting in medical notes
- Experience of audit
Desirable criteria
- Training of foundation trainee pharmacists and junior technicians
