Applicants should have experience and desire to expand their knowledge of stroke / neurological conditions and how therapy supports this population. Applicants should display an understanding of neurological assessment, treatment techniques and therapeutic handling of stroke patients. In order to continue the post holders’ development there is well-established stroke specific training available via a variety of methods and many other opportunities for CPD are available such as attending specialist MDT meetings or spending time with MDT members to gain new skills.

The applicant will be expected to work in our 7-day service across the trust assessing and treating stroke patients, which can be anywhere from A and E to ITU. The applicant will work in both the hyperacute and inpatient rehabilitation setting. We work closely with our Community Stroke Team and the successful applicant will need to have excellent communication skills to provide seamless transfer of care into the community.
