CWT (Cancer Waiting Times) Patient Tracker

Band 3

Trosolwg o'r swydd

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our enthusiastic and dedicated Cancer Services team for 1 full time permanent CWT (Cancer Waiting Times) Patient Tracker. We are looking for a pro-active, motivated individual who enjoys working in a busy admin environment to support the Trust in delivering Cancer Wait Times targets. This exciting role will focus on expediting patients through the suspected cancer pathways from when the patient is first seen through to treatment.

Duties will include liaising with 2WW Booking Office and specialties to proactively track and accurately record the patient's progress through the suspected cancer pathways and expedite the patient where appropriate.

Applicants must have excellent communication, a good working knowledge of MS software, data collection skills and be flexible in their approach. Candidates should also be team players and possess sound, interpersonal and organisational skills. Understanding of cancer waiting time (CWT) would be advantageous and experience of MDT processes is desired but not essential

The successful candidate will manage and track referrals for patients with suspected and confirmed cancer to ensure that local and national cancer pathways and targets are met. They will work closely with both MDT Coordinators and 2WW Clinic Coordinators within the department as well as a multitude of colleagues in and outside of the Trust to ensure patients are appropriately managed on their suspected cancer pathways and be committed to providing a first class service for patients in a fast-paced environment. Due to this, the successful candidate will need excellent, professional communication skills and the ability to liaise with both clinical and senior colleagues on a regular basis. Their responsibilities will include tracking patients on all cancer pathways, attending PTL meetings, supporting the MDT Co-ordinators and cross cover of their CWT patient tracker colleagues.

As the role is multi-functional and works within tight deadlines, the ideal candidate will be able to work on their own initiative and be both systematic and organised. The role involves using a number of electronic systems so a high standard of IT skills is essential. As the candidates will be working as part of a dedicated team, flexibility and a willingness to cover and help their colleagues is crucial.

Overall we expect the successful candidate to be enthusiastic, conscientious, be sensitive to the needs of patients on cancer pathways, and passionate about patient care.
