Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a person interested in a little-known area of Pharmacy. We are a busy Aseptic/Technical Services Unit based within the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital. So, what is “Technical Services”? We are a service that supplies and prepares bespoke intravenous products, such as chemotherapy, to both in-patients and out-patients.

Suitable candidates would be required to work within the cleanroom environment where duties are interesting and varied. Duties range from maintaining and monitoring the cleanroom environment, stock management of drugs and consumable items and assisting the production staff with the making and distribution of products.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a service that works very hard behind the scenes to ensure that patients receive the very best treatment. The team are friendly and hardworking and proud of their contribution to patient care.

Accuracy and attention to detail is essential for this position as is a passion for patient care, quality, and improvement. Full training will be provided and you will be given the opportunity to undertake further qualifications. Applicants must also hold GCSE’s in maths and English language (or equivalent) at Grades C/4 or above.

This is a fulfilling role in itself but it is also a great steppingstone into Pharmacy with many different opportunities for career development.

Please contact John Boulton on 01904721836 or [email protected] for further information.

Main duties of the job
