An exciting opportunity of Tissue Viability Educational/Clinical Lead Nurse has arisen within the Tissue Viability Service.  If you are looking for new challenges and can demonstrate strong nursing leadership we would be delighted to review your application in relation to this post.

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking nurse to lead the Tissue Viability Education agenda.  

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is fixed term/secondment for (6 months until 30th November 2024 to meet the needs of the service.   If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.  

Main duties of the job

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.

To be a visible leader of the Integrated Tissue Viability Team, accessible to all community and wound care services. Whilst developing collaborative working relationships with Tissue Viability National Teams and multidisciplinary teams across the health board.

To have line management responsibility for the team with responsibility for performance, PADR’s, sickness, recruitment, grievance and 
disciplinary issues.  Supervises work of others; clinical supervision of staff, students; plan, develops and implements specialist tissue viability education programmes and training relevant to area of practice to all disciplines.  You will be expected to work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team and be actively involved in providing high standards of quality care.

Implements clinical policies and proposes changes to working practices or procedures in own work space
Participation in R&D activity within area of practice
Responsible for maintaining own level of knowledge in specialist area of practice, lead specialist for a defined patient case load within area of 
practice.

The post holder will be responsible for own professional actions, to support research/use information systems, lead, and participate in relevant research within practice as well as demonstrate an understanding of research methodology.  

To deputise for the Senior Nurse when necessary.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RGN - professional registration (NMC
  • Masters Degree or equivalent demonstrable specialist knowledge of mentorship, education and development practice.
  • Successful completion of Tissue Viability/ Chronic Wound management course
  • Mentorship/Coaching Module.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience to carry out clinical consultation and/or examination relevant to area of practice.
  • Sufficient post registration experience in Tissue Viability at band 6
  • Experience in leading change in clinical practice
  • Experience in staff management and professional development
  • Experience of teaching multi-professional staff
Desirable criteria
  • Welsh Language Skills are desirable at level 1 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
