Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Business Analyst to join the newly established Digital Transformation Team. As an integral part of the Digital & Data Directorate in CTM, the team have a rapidly expanding portfolio of challenging and interesting projects, including electronic prescribing and medicines administration, transforming patient contact services and several smaller projects supporting direct care.

Under the guidance of a Digital Transformation Programme Lead, the successful candidate will be expected work collaboratively with operational and clinical colleagues and the wider digital team to support the re-design of services to improve the outcomes of our patients, citizens and families that we serve, as outlined in the Health Board’s strategy CTM 2030.

Main duties of the job

Candidates will be expected to have experience of working within a complex healthcare environment supporting digital transformation projects. Skills required include; business analysis tools and techniques, excellent engagement and stakeholder management, an understanding of user research methodology and have the ability to bridge the clinical, operational and technical gap buy interpreting end user needs to digitally transform service delivery.

As a proactive and positive member of the team, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of key transformation project objectives which will enable and support the vital work of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree Level plus in-depth specialist knowledge of NHS ICT procedures acquired through both professional qualifications and experience. (2)
  • Significant application of business analysis, preferably within an NHS environment, including formal business analysis qualifications or an appropriate Post Graduate Diploma or training and experience to its equivalency.
Desirable criteria
  • Detailed knowledge of project management and its relationship to business analysis
  • Educated to MSc level or equivalent experience

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a complex change environment, with multiple stakeholders and securing their engagement to deliver change.
  • Experience of influencing staff at all levels to ensure that all members of the team including users and stakeholders
  • Experience of working across organisational boundaries to achieve results.
  • Knowledge of the NHS business analysis in clinical environments
  • Significant business analysis experience in challenging environments
  • Experience of business analysis where there are disagreements about processes between people/departments doing the same work
  • Significant experience of requirements gathering in complex environments
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within project structures

Aptitude and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate confidently with staff at all levels.
  • Must have excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Able to collect, collate multi-stranded data from a variety of sources.
  • Regularly analysing highly complex and detailed information.
  • Using strong proven capability with MS Office applications including Excel & PowerPoint.
Desirable criteria
  • Use of MS Visio or equivalent experience of business analysis
