Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technicians, with good communication and teamwork skills to carry out medicines management roles on wards and departments within The Royal Oldham Hospital. If you are able to work under pressure, and keen to develop yourself, we would like to hear from you. We are keen to develop these new roles whilst supporting their training and progression.

You will need excellent organisational skills and be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure, have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focused service.

If you do not have the required experience / qualifications to meet the Band 5 position , you will be appointed to Band 4 Pharmacy Technician, and be supported to achieve the qualifications and experience required to progress to a Band 5 post. There will be a requirement to participate in a 7 day working pattern this will include working extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

Main duties of the job

You will gain experience in all areas of ward-based medicines management as well as dispensary services, clinical trials and mentoring other staff.

You will have the opportunity once trained to work as part of a clinical technical service team which will involve recording patient medication history and processing discharges at ward and dispensary level.
