In short, the role of Pension Officer Role focuses on working as part of a team to ensure accurate pension records are maintained for all members of the NHS Pension Scheme employed by the Trust.  It’s a challenging role as you’ll be inputting high volumes of information to tight deadlines.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and processing of all applications in line  with NHS Pension Scheme Policy for additional purchase contracts, Early Retirements  Reduction Buy Outs (ERRBO), age, voluntary early and ill-health retirement, processing of opting out applications and refund benefits .

Provide specialist written and/or verbal advice to team members, managers and employees  of all disciplines of the Trust regarding interpretation and implementation of conditions of  service and complex pension calculations  

Deal directly with the NHS Pensions Agency to resolve any issues that may arise  Accessing Pension On Line system to update, correct and investigate any issues that may arise.
