Job overview
An exciting secondment opportunity for a Team Manager has arisen in the Pennine Care Community Rehabilitation Team.
The successful candidate will be an OT/RMN/social worker, will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record in managing teams, and significant experience of working in a range of mental health services.
The role will initially be for a 12 months secondment or fixed term contract.
Interested applicants will need to ensure you have your line manager's authorisation to apply.
You will work with a team of experienced practitioners supporting service users to move through the rehabilitation pathway, using the recovery model and least restrictive principles.
You will receive regular supervision and your personal development priorities will be shared and supported through our appraisal process.
The team is a trust wide service covering all five boroughs across the Pennine Care footprint.
We are currently based at Trust HQ in Ashton Under Lyne. Our core hours are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

Main duties of the job
To provide line management and clinical leadership to the staff within the Community Rehabilitation Team.
To effectively manage the resources within the team and the allocation of workload.
To ensure the team adhere to national legislation, local policies and procedures and eligibility criteria.
To be accountable to the Operational Manager for the performance management of the team and for the quality of work provided by the team.
To contribute to service development in collaboration with the Operational Manager and wider team.
To actively contribute to the overall management of the Community Rehabilitation Team, and to ensure the service works to agreed objectives.
To provide strong leadership to the Community Rehabilitation Team to ensure it performs in the most efficient and effective way ensuring all key performance indicators are met, whilst providing a safe and high quality service.
To participate in the Bronze on call rota depending on service need.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Essential Criteria
- Registered Occupational Therapist, Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Social Worker with current registration with regulatory body.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Short courses and/or experience to post graduate diploma level.
- Experience of working with service users with serious mental health diagnoses and complex needs.
- Experience of working with people who are deemed difficult to engage, who may have behaviours that challenge or may have substance misuse.
- Experience of multidisciplinary working in mental health care and joint working with outside agencies.
- Experience of providing day-to-day clinical leadership and / or operational management of a similar service.
- Experience in the provision of clinical and line management supervision and annual appraisal.
- Experience of working to objectives, within a performance management framework.
Desirable Criteria
- Completion of Preparation for Mentorship / Practice Teacher / Fieldwork Educator qualification.
- Management or leadership qualification, or training for supervision and staff development.
- Working towards formal teaching qualification
- Experience of working within rehabilitation settings.
- Experience of working in a forensic setting.
- Range of experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Experience of managing budgets
