Working closely with the Clinical Sub-Dean and Medical Education Manager the post holder will actively support undergraduate medical education through the administration and delivery of Trust systems to meet, monitor and report on undergraduate educational requirements. The post holder will ensure that appropriate teaching resources are made available and will co-ordinate clinical teaching programmes with St. George’s University of London. They will be required to establish close working relationships with Clinical Teaching Fellows and Undergraduate Teaching Administrators. Also to work collaboratively with other undergraduate programme leads on shared issues.  Continuing development of undergraduate medical education requires the post holder to actively develop the role and alter its’ scope as appropriate.

(Fixed term 12 month post with a very strong possibility of a further extension)

The Trust is committed to providing a welcoming and organised student experience for medical students undertaking clinical placements at St. George’s. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic co-ordinator with excellent administration and project management skills to join the Education and Development team  as the Undergraduate Paediatrics & O&G Teaching Co-ordinator responsible for Paediatrics and O&G attachments for students in their clinical years. Strong organisation skills for co-ordinating multiple concurrent timetables and excellent communications skills using face-to-face welcome sessions, alongside robust information provided via email and online platforms.

 

Working with the Head of Professional Support and Development, the Surgical Teaching Co-ordinator and colleagues in the university, the post-holder will be responsible for co-ordinating clinical placements for medical students in all years and Trust wide events such as the Grand Round.  The post-holder will also act as the ley point of contact for medical students on placement in the Trust and the Clinical Teaching Fellows.

  • Transitional Year – Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology attachments
  • Years 1 and 2 – Early Years Surgery attachments
