The advertised post is for a fixed term locum consultant diagnostic radiologist at Barts Health NHS Trust, based as St Bartholomew’s Hospital covering maternity leave.

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our existing team of 73 radiologists based at The Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals who support the existing service and the active training programme. The post will be based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

The successful applicant should have completed training in diagnostic radiology and be within 6 months of their CCT. They should have a specialist interest in either uro or gynae oncology.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent experience in general imaging, oncological imaging, and acute general radiology, including trauma.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.

Helping in development and organisation of the services in his / her charge in line with the Trusts’ business plans. Liaison and communication with the Divisional Manager and Clinical Director for Imaging at Barts Health NHS Trust will be expected.

Development of their own interests and specialties within the Imaging service, including active participation in audit programs.

Corporate and individual responsibility for the professional management of doctors in training.

To contribute to the high-quality Consultant-led diagnostic imaging service at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals.

To contribute to the specialist MDT’s on a rota with subspecialist colleagues.

To join the general on-call service 1 in 20 from home with SPR cover on site.

To always adhere to the appropriate clinical and quality standards.

To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with colleagues, general practitioners’ community services, and all healthcare agencies.

To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

There is a general on-call rota (1 in 20) with the SPR first on-call. This includes 6 hours of on-call SPR report checking on a Saturday and a Sunday.  There is time off in lieu and a 3% uplift. Other separate on-call rotas include Paediatrics, Neuroradiology, Neurointervention and Interventional radiology.

There are three 1.5T and two 3T MRI scanners at the RLH and SBH sites with a combination of dual energy and conventional CT scanners at both RLH/SBH sites.

There is a mobile MRI at Mile End Hospital (CDC ) with a new MRI scanner and a CT scanner fully operational with 2 further CT scanners planned.

The departments are equipped with GE Logic E9 and E10 ultrasound machines and all US lists have admin, nursing and HCA staffing.

The appointee will have full professional independence on medical matters but will be managerially accountable to the Barts Health Chief Executive, through their Clinical Director.
