Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

The NHS has a crucial role to play in helping people with a learning disability, autism or both, lead longer, happier and healthier lives. Research has shown that on average, people with a learning disability and autism die earlier than the general population, and do not receive the same quality of care as the general population.

We are therefore seeking a clinical or care professional who is currently working in a front-line health or care role within the Bexley system who is dedicated to taking on this leadership role 1 session per week on a fixed term contract of employment or secondment.  This individual needs to be passionate about improving the join up of services and care for the learning disability and autistic population, through working collaboratively with other service provider partners to make the strategic ambitions of more integrated care, an operational reality in Bexley.

The post holder will have knowledge and understanding of health inequalities, a sense of advocacy and a drive to engage all partners to bring about positive change for our people across Bexley borough with learning disabilities and/or autism. They will work closely with colleagues across the Bexley partnership taking a system leadership approach in delivering programmes and projects relating to learning disabilities and autism in the Bexley borough.
