Long Covid Service

We are looking for a dynamic Band 7 physiotherapist to join our Long Covid service in the Integrated Community Service Division at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.

This exciting opportunity is suitable for highly experienced physiotherapists who are motivated to lead the physio input to the Long Covid Service at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. 

This post may interest you if you have had a wide range of experience of managing respiratory out-patients and involves working as part of a highly specialist multidisciplinary team, consisting of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and Speech and Language therapy to provide holistic management for patients with Long Covid. 

 

 

Main duties of the job

  • Clinical Lead for Long Covid Respiratory Outpatients and Virtual Service
  • Managing a caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Independent working
  • Clinical audit and service development/evaluation
  • Organising and implementing training programs for staff
  • Team working across settings
  • Multi-disciplinary working at a senior level 
  • Advanced reasoning skills
  • High level problem solving skills
  • Ability to expertly use and apply a range of assessment and treatment techniques
  • Weekend working and participation in the out-of-hours on call service if required
  • Leading service development initiatives and operational team management
  • Deputising for the team leader as required

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Specialist post graduate courses
  • Clinical Educators/Field worker course or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Management and leadership skills training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad base of relevant clinical experience prior to specialising and extensive experience of working in the speciality area
  • Experience of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working
  • Experience of student education within the workplace up to graduate level and supervision of senior and junior staff and students
  • Experience of clinical audit and service evaluation and experience of project management /service development
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership in a uni-professional or multi-professional team

  • Advanced reasoning skills High level problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and flexibly and to adapt communication style to the needs of patients, carers and staff.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate as appropriate and to manage time effectively

  • Knowledge of a range of relevant conditions and their management
  • Extensive specialist knowledge in clinical area of expertise developed through a combination of training/learning and experience.
  • Knowledge of recent NHS & Trust developments and their impact on the service

  • Car owner/driver subject to the conditions of the DDA and based on the needs of the service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and out of hours including weekends based on the needs of the service and agreement to work on the On-Call rota
