The Pathology Quality, Risk & Governance Manager is a member of the Pathology Management Team whose overall function is to ensure that the Pathology service is safe, effective and highly responsive to the needs and requirements of the service users

This post a full-time position, substantive position, however, the department is happy to consider flexible working in support of work life balance. Extended days, compressed hours and part time working may be considered. If a person is appointed on a part-time or job-share basis the job plan will be modified during discussions with the appointee.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of risk within Pathology and ensuring the compliance with Trust Quality, Risk and Governance policies.

Training and development of Pathology staff engaged in Quality, Risk & Governance activities and participate in the Southern Counties Pathology Network Quality Group

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. MIBMS or CSci)
  • MSc Biomedical Science (or related subject) or equivalent
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of accreditation procedures (e.g. ISO, MHRA, HTA, ISO, GLP)
  • Knowledge of organisational and clinical audit
  • Health & Safety Management Quality Management
  • Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems

  • Health Care Professions Council Registration as a Clinical or Biomedical Scientist
