Job overview

We are recruiting for an Audiologist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

An opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated, enthusiastic Audiologists to join our friendly and busy department.

This post holder will be required to travel to our 3 hospital sites, Lister Hospital, QE2 & Hertford County.

This vacancy is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in more than just the core audiology work and training is available for staff to develop their interests in Adult Rehabilitation, Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and Vestibular Assessment.

As a department we put an emphasis on the development of our staff and regularly send members of our team on external training courses.

Main duties of the job

Applications are welcomed from Audiologists nearing completion of their degree course. Candidates would be expected to hold or be able to achieve RCCP registration, BSA membership and or HCPC registration.

Full diagnostic support and rehabilitation services to 5 ENT consultants & 1 Audiological Physician.

Direct Access Hearing Aid Clinics

Balance Assessment Clinics using Caloric & ENG / VNG testing.

Tinnitus clinics

Dedicated paediatric clinics.

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • BSc (Hons) Audiology
  • BAAT Part II or CAC or CCC
  • Membership of BAA / BSA
Desirable criteria
  • MSc Audiology
  • RCCP membership

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in Hearing Aid Fitting.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of MHAS / MCHAS protocols
  • Experience within Paediatric audiology

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good Communication Skills to deal with general public enquiries.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good Computer Skills
Desirable criteria
  • Use of Word / Excel / Powerpoint

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of routine audiological tests
  • Knowledge of NHS Hearing aids for Adults & Paeds
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of Good auditory rehab skills
  • Experience of research / clinical auditing
