Senior Clinical Fellow

Applications are invited for two Senior Clinical Fellow posts in Clinical Oncology. This is a fixed term appointment for 6 months starting from 05 March – 02 September 2018, for the reason of filling a gap in the Training Rotation based at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood, London. One of the posts will be full time and the other is a part time post. 

This is an excellent opportunity within the Clinical Oncology department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The post holder will work at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. They will provide care for cancer in-patients and attend between 2-4 outpatient clinics per week a maximum of two being in the peripheral district general hospital. They will have at least one dedicated radiotherapy planning session per week and will regularly assess and review patients having chemotherapy.

The post holder will gain invaluable experience in state of the art radiotherapy techniques, and will have the opportunity to enhance their e-portfolio.

The post holder will participate in a 1 in 14 non-resident on-call rota for the cancer centre. This will include internal cover for all leave and sickness absence. The post holder will be closely supervised by the oncology consultants. The post holder will also participate in the AOS liaison doctor rota for one week every 13.

Following the investment of £150 million in major new facilities at the Lister, along with a £30 million New QEII hospital built by the local clinical commissioning group, the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has brought together all its specialist emergency and inpatient services at the Stevenage hospital. Our state-of–the-art clinical facilities include a major new Emergency Department, the Hertfordshire Cardiology Centre (which includes a 24/7 PPCI service), new scanning centre, McMillan chemotherapy unit, ward, endoscopy and theatre blocks.
