This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, high calibre candidate with a strong scientific background and a proven track-record in managing services and leading people, to manage the day-to-day operations in the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital Blood Transfusion Laboratory and to be the Trust Blood Transfusion Lead BMS.
Main duties of the job
You will have a strong transfusion background and looking to develop managerial and professional responsibilities in a progressive and forward-thinking department, working with a friendly and collaborative team within blood sciences. You will also have experience of change management, to provide operational leadership for the department going forwards. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing quality improvement and innovation initiatives for the transfusion laboratory.
The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator who enjoys working in a busy, complex environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve tight deadlines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Successful candidate will be required to participate in the 24/7 out of hours Operational manager on-call rota and travel between Trust sites as required.
