Situated in the heart of Essex, Broomfield Hospital is conveniently located in the City of Chelmsford, Essex just 35 minutes train journey to London Liverpool Street and 30 minutes to London Stansted Airport. Salary: £76,761 - £103,490 per annum

Applications are invited for a full-time Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine. This is a fixed-term post based at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join a team of dynamic Acute physicians within the Acute Medicine department.

This is an exciting development opportunity for Mid Essex Hospitals through the provision of pro-active treatment for acute medical patients. The successful applicant will be expected to liaise actively with other Medical and Surgical Colleagues, as well as primary care Physicians to reduce inappropriate medical admissions and facilitate early initiation of discharge planning. This post is an expansion of the current Acute Care Service provided within the Emergency Care departments.

You must be an excellent communicator and should have a wide range of experience in Acute Medicine and be in possession of your MRCP (or equivalent), ideally be on the specialist register in General Medicine, or within six months of achieving this at the date of interview. You must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice. Applications would be considered for Doctors who would wish to work in other medical specialties as well as Acute Medicine in their clinical activities.

There is an active Postgraduate Medical Education centre and single/married accommodation is available on the hospital site.

Broomfield Hospital is situated in Chelmsford close to the A12 and the major motorway networks, M25 and M11. Local public transport facilities are excellent with buses and a British Rail station is nearby.
