Job overview
Consultant Interventional Cardiologist
The post holder will aid in the development and provision of comprehensive modern cardiology intervention. The post holder will work across site, at Eastbourne DGH and Conquest Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The cardiac intervention will be at the Eastbourne site. There will be outpatient clinics and ward rounds at both hospitals. The majority of clinics will be at the Eastbourne site. There is a primary angioplasty rota which is currently support by six interventional cardiologists.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB BS or equivalent
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians Full Registration with GMC
Desirable criteria
- MD or equivalent
Training/Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide experience in all aspects of Cardiology, with a specialist interest culminating in the award of a CCT.
- Training in coronary intervention
Desirable criteria
- Training/experience in complex coronary intervention (CTO or Rotablation)
- Experience in other relevant medical specialities
Admin/managment
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in management
- Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
Desirable criteria
- Management course and/or qualifications
- Knowledge of the structure of Health Service
Audit/research/Publications
Essential criteria
- Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit
- Understanding of the role of research
Desirable criteria
- Completion and/or Publication of audit projects
- Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality
- Ability to lead clinical research project
