Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join the Neuro Rehabilitation Out-Patient Team at East Sussex Healthcare. This is a full time post covering both the Conquest and EDGH with the opportunity to also work within our new community Rehabilitation Hub. You will link in closely with specialist nurses and therapist to support patients in achieving identified goals improving their outcomes and quality of life. You will have the opportunity to further develop your career with a specialised Neurological focus.

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake specialist clinical physiotherapy assessments and treatments, including Aquatic Therapy, appropriate to Band 6 grade
  • To work as an autonomous professional according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) “Rules of Professional conduct” and “Standards of Physiotherapy” and the Health Professions Council (HPC) regulations, working without the need for direct supervision, access to advice and support from a more senior physiotherapist is available if required, but work is not routinely evaluated.
  • Voluntary participation within other out of hour’s physiotherapy services e.g. orthopaedics, hydrotherapy, private patients, PD weekend group or lead Multiple Sclerosis private exercise group
  • To work collaboratively with all healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated service that meets the individual patient need.
  • To supervise, educate and be involved in the appraisal of student, physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants within the team.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or diploma in physiotherapy
  • Current registration with HPC
  • Post-graduate qualification or proven equivalent experience / training in a relevant field
Desirable criteria
  • Practice Placement Education Certificate

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 3 years post qualification clinical rotational experience, to include neurological experience
  • Experience of training/supervision
  • Experience of multi-professional working
