Job overview

The post holder will work under direction to coordinate all Hotel Services within the department and work as part of the HSDU team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained. 


To work closely with the Management and Quality team in 
ensuring service standards are met.

Main duties of the job

  • To participate in domestic duties in partnership with the department 
    housekeeper
  • Assist in monitoring and assist in maintaining cleaning standards in the department and report on the level of cleanliness in the area.
  • Participate both in domestic and departmental monitoring where required.
  • Spot cleaning i.e. ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently.
  • By working with, and following guidance from the HSDU and Housekeeping team, ensure equipment in all areas is in a clean condition and available for immediate use.
  • Upkeep of department appearance i.e. removing clutter, removing broken equipment from areas, attending to storage requirements all under guidance from HSDU Supervisors / Managers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all duties carried out as required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • A good level of education (to GSCE standard or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of further education/training
  • Housekeeping/Orderly training received in a healthcare setting

Experience

Essential criteria
  • None needed, full training will be provided
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working as an Orderly

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Essential criteria
  • High standard of work with an appreciation of healthcare and patient safety
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Ability to liaise and communicate with other departments internal or external to the Trust in an appropriate manner
