Job overview
The University Hospital Dorset maternity service delivers approximately 4000 births a year with expanding range of high-risk obstetric services. We are looking a for an enthusiastic consultant obstetrician to join our team to provide a high-quality maternal medicine service and lead our multi-disciplinary team training to ensure we can comply with maternity incentive scheme.
This is a new post that was created on the back of the BC
The successful candidate will participate in the on-call rota. The above timetable will evolve and change through the job planning process to meet the changing needs of the service requirements for the department

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • GMC Registration • MRCOG • CCT in O&G • Advanced labour ward practice, maternal medicine, or high risk antenatal ATSM, CCT, • Diploma or Masters in Education
Desirable criteria
- • Subspecialty training, MD • Intermediate Obstetric USS • Compliant with all Mandatory Training
Experience
Essential criteria
- • Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics equivalent to that required for a UK CCST • Ability to offer acute O&G care as the resident / non-resident O&G Consultant • teaching experience
Desirable criteria
- • Evidence of involvement in audit & research projects • Evidence of involvement in risk management • Quality Improvement projects
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- • Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. • Ability to prioritise workload & use initiative. • Ability to know own limitations & when to seek advice. • Meet the requirements of the GMC’s Good Medical Practice.vironment Ability to manage own time and continuing professional development
