You get to know them as people and build strong meaningful relationships.

Being there for them and their family during their most difficult and challenging moments in their life offering comfort and alleviating some of their fears and concerns is incredibly rewarding. You have the opportunity to make such a difference to what is often an incredibly difficult journey for them. This is not always emotionally easy but made possible with the help and incredibly important support of the Turner and Ricky Grant team.

We are offering full time/part time position's.
Working long days, nights, weekends Monday - Sunday on the ward and within the day unit Monday - Saturday.
Main duties of the job
To work across both Turner ward and Ricky Grant Day Unit as a registered nurse within a team responsible for the care of patients admitted as a result of their cancer diagnosis or side effects of their treatment and for the administration of Systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) in the nurse led Day Unit setting.
To be part of the ward/unit team responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of patient care under the guidance of the ward and unit sister/ward manager. You will be working closely with other professional colleagues to ensure that consistently high standards and quality of care for patients are maintained and that the patient’s needs are met.
- To improve practice by continuous professional development. You will gain a broad spectrum of clinical proficiency to deliver SACT.
- To conform to COSHH and Health and Safety regulations whilst dealing with cytotoxic drugs ensuring a safe working environment
- To provide clinical advice, training, education and support to patients, relatives and other professional colleagues.
- To promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, their carer’s, visitors and staff and to comply with the Trust and relevant network policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, values and expected behaviours.

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse Adult
- Current/awaiting registration with NMC
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to organise and prioritise work load for self and others
Desirable criteria
- SACT administration
- Completed SACT Passport
- Knowledge of wound care and dressings

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
