Job overview

Do you long to work in a job where you are really seen? And valued? Do you want to be part of something more?

That’s exactly what you get if you join the Critical Care Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

We offer a great place to work, but also a great team to be part of and a great place to live. We have regular social events outside of work time; regular beach dog walks, summer party, BBQ’s etc. We support wellbeing initiatives for our staff such as shiatsu massage, pottery classes, yoga, sailing. We encourage staff attendances at conferences and other networking and development opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Our Critical Care is expanding from 15 to 19 beds, so we need to grow our team. We care for a broad range of critically ill adults and children, within a multitude of specialities. We look after both level 2 High Dependency patients and level 3 Intensive Care patients (HDU/ICU). We offer a friendly and supportive working environment where education is seen as a
priority. We would like you to join our team to provide excellent, compassionate care to all our critically ill patients and their families. We have a wonderful multidisciplinary team (MDT) integrated within our unit encompassing research nurses, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, dieticians, and psychologists. Meaning we have a huge focus on rehabilitation after critical illness.

We have a dedicated Critical Care education team who will help you with every step of your journey. You will also receive an exceptional induction and orientation programme.

Relocation packages available.
