Our Critical Care is expanding from 15 to 19 beds, so we need to grow our team. We care for a broad range of critically ill adults and children, within a multitude of specialities. We look after both level 2 High Dependency patients and level 3 Intensive Care patients (HDU/ICU) We offer a friendly and supportive working environment where education is seen as a priority. We would like you to join our team to provide excellent, compassionate care to all our critically ill patients and their families. We have a wonderful multidisciplinary team (MDT) integrated within our unit.
We have a dedicated Critical Care education team who will help you with every step of your journey. You will also receive an exceptional induction and orientation programme.

Working for our organisation
The Post holder must comply with all RCHT Policies and Procedures.
The Post holder must work within infection control guidelines to ensure that work methods do not constitute a risk of infection either to the health care professional, to the client or to any persons working/visiting in RCHT premises.

- NMC Registration
- Qualification in Critical Care Nursing (60 credits)
Desirable criteria
- PLS/APLS
- Assessing and mentoring qualification

- Relevant degree (or working towards)
- Evidence of on-going dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies (STEPS Level 3)
Desirable criteria
- Paediatric High Dependency / Intensive Care Course
- Previous ward management experience

- ILS/ALS
- Comprehensive post- registration experience in the specialty within past 12 months
- Ability to independently shift lead on Critical Care
- Experience of supervising, teaching and assessing students

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
