Job overview

This is an exciting and challenging role which covers adult and paediatric clinical, management and leadership requirements for IQIPS accreditation.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent team working and leadership qualities as well as a high level of clinical and communication skills. You will need to be able to develop good working relationships at all levels and liaise effectively with a wide range of clinicians and managers as well as patients and families.

Whilst working with the Trust you will receive considerable support and opportunities to develop your clinical, management and leadership skills.

Main duties of the job

Planning and delivering the necessary requirements for IQIPS accreditation and implementing the necessary continuous improvement whilst directly supporting the Head of Audiology in the day-to-day delivery  of the service.

Manage own areas of responsibility on a day to day basis. Make senior level decisions, provide leadership and negotiate at a senior level on a range of subjects relating to the service.

With the support of the Head of Audiology, resolve service wide issues relating to staff performance, achievement of targets and capacity.

Work closely with colleagues in Outpatients and wards to ensure delivery of activity and waiting time targets.

Identify and address service pressures, using own judgement to respond and deal with a range of routine and urgent situations and developments. This will require the planning, formulation, monitoring and review of action plans, policies and strategies.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Senior IQIPS experience
  • Experience of Auditbase or similar system.
  • Minimum of 5 years adult audiology clinical experience.

Knowledge & experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant senior experience (over 6)
  • Good level of IT skills to include word processing, use of spreadsheets and databases.

Education

Essential criteria
  • MSc Audiology or equivalent M level qualification with Clinical training equivalent to CAC, STP or BAA HTTS.
  • Professional Registration with HCPC/RCCP or AHCS.
Desirable criteria
  • IQIPS Assessor Training.
  • Leadership &/or Management qualification.
