Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join the team in Unity Sexual Health as a part time (9 hours per week) Band 7 Psychosexual Therapist based in Central Bristol. Applications will be accepted for all or part of those hours.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced COSRT accredited therapist or holder of a Diploma from the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (IPM).
We are a vibrant multidisciplinary team. We work with couples as well as individuals and are always keen to develop services for our clients in accordance with the evidence base and best practice. We are looking for someone who is keen to be involved in teaching and service development. This will include clinical supervision and support with ongoing caseload management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a psychosexual therapy service to patients referred for psychosexual therapy in our Bristol Clinic. They will work as an autonomous practitioner based within the integrated sexual health service and be professionally responsible for their own work; but happy to liaise with sexual health staff and students throughout the department.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Has experience of managing a psychosexual caseload
- Demonstrates knowledge and experience in delivering skilled psychosexual treatment to individuals and couples
- Has knowledge and experience in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatment/therapy programs
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates ability to work autonomously at a senior level of competence evidenced through previous employment

- Ability to organise own workload and prioritises to meet deadlines
- Shows an empathic, non-judgmental approach to client group
- Self motivated, enthusiastic and demonstrates an awareness of own values and limitations and can reflect on own practice

- Demonstrates commitments to evaluating practice and improving the quality of clinical interventions

- Demonstrates basic knowledge of mental health issues to identify cases that may be inappropriate for psychosexual therapy
- Demonstrates knowledge of multidisciplinary team working and recognises its value
Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- EITHER Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy
- OR Hold an accreditation/registration with a recognised psychosexual and/or psychotherapy organisations e.g. BASRT / IPM
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
