We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Bank Therapy Technical Instructor on our inpatient wards. You will be expected to assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering a high quality service for patients on our inpatient wards in the hospital.

You must have previous Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy assistant experience or previous hospital based student placements. You must be enthusiastic, flexible, organised, have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a team. You must be able to work within a fast paced ward environment which can be physically demanding.

The Luton & Dunstable Hospital is a progressive acute hospital. The workload is acute and Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists have a pivotal role in supporting safe and timely discharge. You will be supported in this role by a friendly and dynamic team.

Return to practice application would be considered and will receive training/support once in post.

You will be expected to assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering a high quality service for patients on our inpatient wards in the hospital. This may involve:

  • Teaching patients exercise programmes
  • Helping patients to walk and move
  • Working with patients to achieve as much independence as possible with washing/dressing/toileting tasks and with making hot drinks and meal preparation
  • Assisting the therapist during treatment sessions
  • Issuing mobility and functional equipment
  • Administrative tasks
