Are you an experienced Registered Nurse Mental Health / Learning Disabilities? Are you looking for a flexible way of working where you can choose when and where to work? Would you like to work full time or perhaps just one or two shifts per week? Are you only able to work weekends?

If your answer to any of the above questions is yes then we would like to invite you to apply for the following position within the Mental Health Inpatient Services at at Dane Garth, Furness General Hospital, Barrow in Furness.

Bank Registered Nurse Mental Health / Learning Disabilities

Band 5 - £17.56 per hour + enhancements for unsociable hours

As a Bank Band 5 Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Learning Disabilities), you will have at least six months previous experience working in an inpatient mental health setting as part of the multidisciplinary team.  You will have experience of carrying out a diverse range of duties including the assessment, formulation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nursing care that is evidence-based, person centred and recovery focused.

Please note: you will need to be able to attend and pass training in Positive and Safe physical restraint, enhanced life support and moving & handling. We are keen to discuss opportunities for making reasonable adjustments if you are unable to meet these requirements. This may affect the type or location of shifts you can be offered.

  • On-going registration with the NMC
  • Completion of Band 5 preceptorship programme (evidence may be required from RNs who have been registered for less than 2 years or with gaps)

  • Can demonstrate an understanding and knowledge base of mental health conditions and their treatments, recovery principles and person centred care
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Care Programme Approach
  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of physical health conditions and the complications that this can cause to patients experiencing mental ill healt

Experience
