Job overview

The post offers an exciting opportunity to join the reception & administration support service team in the Forensic Service at Clifton House in York.

 

We have one full time post available based at Clifton House.  The hours are 37.5 hours working a rolling 3 week roster working shifts 07:00 – 15:00, 10:00 – 18:00 and 13:00 – 21:00 and also includes weekend working

 

We are looking for a confident, friendly, enthusiastic and flexible individual who is able to deliver a comprehensive reception and customer service in an often-busy reception environment. 

 

To provide a point of contact and general assistance to, staff, visitors and patients and act as a focal point of communication in accessing the appropriate ward/department or service in a courteous, efficient and effective manner.

 

The ability to cope with periods of high activity in a calm and efficient manner as a team member is essential, together with being capable of reporting and relaying messages accurately. The post needs a methodical approach to work and experience of clerical systems and procedures.

Main duties of the job


The job holder will work as part of a small team to provide an efficient and effective reception, administration service and apply local security controls to the Forensic Service based at Clifton House under the direction of the Forensic Security Advisor, and in line with the agreed job plan.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The job holder will be required to meet NHS standards for confidentiality and information sharing.

The job holder will take accurate messages and will provide a customer focussed reception service as required.

The job holder will have daily telephone and face to face contact with staff, visitors, service users and regular contact with other departments within the Trust.

The job holder will be expected to make decisions within the boundaries of this role and with  guidance from the line manager

To participate in the Trust’s Personal Development Plan and Performance Review process and be responsible for own personal development, including attendance at relevant training courses

The job holder will provide a meet and greet service to the service users, carers and visitors

Where new systems are to be implemented the job holder will be expected to contribute and facilitate the implementation in a positive way including having the ability to articulate concerns and issues in a positive light.

Works with indirect supervision and is guided by procedures, guidance by others, interprets policy and strategy
