Allied Health Professions: Requirements and registration

Chiropody/Podiatry

Chiropodists, or podiatrists, play an important role in helping people, particularly older people, to stay mobile by keeping feet in a healthy condition.

Entry Requirements

To train as a podiatrist or chiropodist you need to undertake a three year full time degree course at a recognised school of podiatry. Applicants for the degree course will generally need 2 A levels, one of which should be science based.

Applications should be made via UCAS .

Once you have qualified you need to be state registered. Chiropodists are State registered by the Health Professions Council (HPC) .
